blenderguide.org

link directory for blender

About

+++ Blenderguide.org version2 (inlcuding this page) is still under construction! +++

What is blenderguide.org?

Blenderguide is an (unofficial) web directory for the free software 3D animation program Blender. The main goal of blenderguide.org is to collect and categorise the various websites that deal with Blender.

Can I add my website?
Yes, of course. Feel free to add your website - as long as it deals with Blender and can - somehow - offer some benefit to the Blender community.
As I check every single link manually it can take up to 24h until your link is published. I don't want any spam entries in here - it should be in your interest.

How can I help you?
1.) Suggest your favourite Blender websites (if not already existent)
2.) If you find a broken link, please report it.
3.) Rate websites listed on Blenderguide.
4.) Link to Blenderguide.
5.) If you think, blenderguide could be improved: Let me know!

Blenderguide.org Linking policy
Normally, you create a website because you want others to see it. Therefore, one can assume that it should be in every webmaster's interest to be linked in an appropriate directory. However, I try to ask permission for adding a link as often as I can. In case your website is listed on Blenderguide.org without permission and/or you don't want it to be listed anymore (f.e. if there is too much traffic coming to your site), please send me an email (info (at) i-site.de) and I will remove the link immediately (and make sure that it stays removed).

Who are you?
I'm a 25 yo Business Engineering student with an interest in 3D modeling.

What software do you use for blenderguide?
blenderguide.org uses the directory software esyndicat. esyndicat is a commercial software. You might want to know why I use a commercial software to promote Blender? Before I came up with the idea of using esyndicat I spent quite a lot of time on the research. There are some open source projects dealing with link directories. One project f.e. is YALD. I'm still monitoring the progress of the open source community concerning link directories. All of the projects didn't seem to be developed enough for what I wanted to create. I'll publish a list of Open Source link directories soon. As soon as one of these projects is developed enough I will switch to an open source alternative.

Is blenderguide.org designed to make a profit?
The hosting of a website incurs certain costs. Not much but still costs that I have to pay for. My aim is to let blenderguide.org generate some income (by advertising) to compensate at least for these costs (and eventually one day even for the time I spend on the development&maintenance). Blenderguide.org is not designed to generate profit.
There are no and will be NO SPONSORED LINKS within the Blender links on blenderguide, but there may be an Adsense Block on the right side of blenderguide. This is the compromise we have to accept.
